Switch II chapter one raws (Naked Ape, March-2013 issue of Comic Zero Sum.)

I gave in and had the Comic Zero Sum issue shipped from Japan. I justified this by buying two other Tankōbon, namely the latest two volumes of Asuka so I could get the Samurai Drive chapters (and OMG. There will be posts and pictures from THEM as well). I had this gut feeling that something i particular might just occur in the first chapter, and my obsessive attempts to find the raws online have been completely futile.

Anyway, so I've taken pictures of each page of the first chapter. They're completed unedited, and this is the first time I've used my phone for anything like this. Normally I'd look at scanning, but I thought this would not only be quicker (Ha! Fat chance there), but the Tankobon don't look like they would survive he bending process required for scanning. I'm probably going to redo the first half of them at some point, because some of them are very blurry. You can tell I did the middle ones last ^_^.

You can do whatever you like with the images, except please do not repost the whole lot somewhere - the odd individual page is totally fine, but I'd rather people link back to this past rather than re-upload them all someone else.

Other than that, I hope everyone else is dorking out over the return of the series as much as I am! I'm going to put my own thoughts as comments below, because I don't want to spoiler anyone!

Yay! Takei! There was always a good chance he would have to show up, as his storyline was left so up in the air at the end of the series. We also knew he transferred out of his branch from the blurb at the end of the 5 years later doujin, but we didn't know when or where he did that, and I always hoped that it was to the main branch and that it was immediately following the whole Shiba incident. When he first appeared in the background I was all "is that.... oh please!" and then what do you know?

And doesn't he look cute?

I found it a little odd that Takei's new partner was female at the beginning, because the male pairs are such a thing in Switch. That said, I love the few women in the series, and she seems very cute with Takei (this is quite possibly not so clear in blurry raws). Happy, bubbly, giggly Takei is a good thing, but it still feels oddly wrong for him to be like that without Shiba.

We're totally going to get Shiba and Takei payoff now, right? That's got to be why Takei has been placed in with the main cast, right? *does a happy little dance*

Definitely a lot more familiar faces than feared ... which might be just another way of saying: I've only got the foggiest idea of what's going on here, but it looks like a fun read?

Takei's new partner being a woman - I want to be fangirlish and say it's because any male partner would only remind Takei of and compare unfavorably to Shiba. That's probably not the reason at all.

Yeah. I'm totally happy to go with Takei not being able to deal with anyone who would compare to Shiba. That, and the fact that having an attractive female partner would drive Shiba nuts (this could be deliberate, heh). I kind of adore the fact she is taller than him, though. I could buy him really benefiting from an awesome female friend (who doesn't at all get in the way of my OTP but helps bring a bit of drama). She comes across as really cute and totally a good match for Takei in their tiny little scenes together, so I'd be really happy with her playing a non-romantic role. To be honest, I probably wouldn't have an issue (so far) with her in romantic role because I do ship some of the het pairings in Switch, I just would love Takei so very much more with Shiba in some way =).

Oh my god, I found your post today and squealed over these raws, thanks so much! I just ordered the continuation books to read for myself, in the meantime I'll need to reread the series again to refresh my memory. Maybe if someone else hasn't picked it up for scanslating by then, I'll post a summary. ^^

Hope the fandom is revived and new people join as the continuation progresses, I always personally thought Switch was a more underground and smaller base compared to Dolls. ^^;
